Latest version of the book

After reading the new article “Bying EPI”, Just wonder how do I check if I have the latest version of the book?

Look at the date at the bottom of the acknowledgements page at the very back of the book. For the Java version of the book, the most recent says October, 2017.

Thx, I bought the Java version in September and is dated from May 2017, does anyone know what major difference this version with the latest one from October?

I’ve wondered about whether there’s a “change list” of sorts maintained for different versions. @tsunghsienlee probably has an answer. I have 2 copies of EPI for Java - the most recent version and a version from late 2016.

The big difference I’ve noticed between the two is that most recent one doesn’t have “Chapter 4 Problem Solving”, which describes general approaches to solving programming problems.

Other than that, both versions seem to have pretty much the same problems, but sometimes there’s reordering. This causes the problem numbers to not line up between versions, but the titles and descriptions are similar, if not identical.

We did not maintain a list of change list as most of the changes we made over this year are small fixes. We roughly update our book every quarter as there are enough updates we think we shall push a new version.

Content-wise usually we won’t have any huge update unless there is a major revision.
